My name is Lindsy Juarez and I was born and raised in Boulder,Colorado. Both of my parents are from Mexico and I heavily identify with that side of my heritage and am proud to be Latina. I grew up with a lot of aspects of Mexican culture so my art is inspired and consists of a lot of traditions or aspects of it. With my art, I definitely would like to show my experiences and different identities. I think art should always be about expressing yourself and not being afraid to represent who you are. Ever since I was a child, I have always had an interest in art and always seem to gravitate towards it, however, I felt ashamed to say that I wanted to pursue art. As I grew, I realized that this would be my only pathway to happiness and even discovered my preferred medium which is ceramics. There is not a day that goes by where I am not thankful for having this realization and absolutely have no regrets. Art will always be what I want to dedicate my life to because it has always provided a balance for me and stresses that come with life. In the future, I would love to have my own studio, be in exhibitions or host them, and sell my art. I know it will be a lot of hard work but I am ready to go and make my dreams come true.
