This soundscape project was quite an experience. Not only did I learn a lot but I also realized how difficult it is to create a sound out of many other sounds. Before this project, I honestly thought that creating sounds was straightforward and needed minor editing. However, I now see that it is indeed a longer process that takes a lot of thinking and imagination. At the start of this project, I felt confident that I would be able to complete this assignment with effort but not as much as I put in. Once I actually dived into the project, I will be honest, I just let myself go with the flow and not really let myself have expectations. It began very rocky because I wasn’t sure how to blend the sounds with each other. I believe that was the most difficult part of the project for me. I would try all different types of things however it never sounded right. As I kept practicing, it got better and I began to get the hang of it. Slowly everything was coming together and I felt that I was in a good place for this project. However, I didn’t consider that having my sound be repetitive would be an issue. The day of the critique that was the comment that was the most consistent. Although it was a good sound, it did seem repetitive and I had realized that the day of critique. I definitely agree with everyone and believe that my sound could have been more interesting if it wasn’t so repetitive. This helped me a lot to realize there should be more variety when creating sounds. It was a good learning experience for me and from now on I know the things I should consider to make an interesting sound.Â
