Final Artist Statement - Project #4

At the start of this project, I seemed to have had many ideas, however I thought making something innocent turn into something dark would be a fun concept for this project. As I was brainstorming ideas within this theme, I thought that Hello Kitty and her friends would be a great opportunity to do this. I was feeling extremely inspired and motivated for my project so I dived right in to make my web adventure aesthetically pleasing and a fun journey. However, due to taking a long time on the aesthetics, I didn’t have more time to create more endings or easter eggs. Despite this, I was still very happy with the final product and still felt that it had a good variety of endings and easter eggs. Perhaps in the future I will continue to add onto it so there can be an infinite number of possibilities. Overall, I believe this was one of my stronger projects just because I felt like I had more control. Although it was quite time consuming, I felt that it was worth it and had a fun time creating it at the end of the day. To conclude my experience in this class overall, I had a wonderful time exploring the digital art world and it really put into perspective how much work and skills goes into creating things like what we did in class. I truly was amazed by the many complex things one can do with different programs and believe that having this skill is a good tool to have. I think I will continue to explore the digital art world in future years to come and I can’t wait to see how it evolves in the next few years as well.
