After completing and receiving feedback on this project, I have learned quite a lot. I feel comfortable with animating and know the things I can improve on. At the beginning of this project, I felt extremely anxious because it seemed so complex to me and I wasn’t sure if I was capable of creating something successful. On top of this, I was in a creative block meaning I had no ideas of what to do. As time passed, I felt pressured to come up with an idea. Once I did though, I felt a weight off my shoulder. I still was anxious to create this project but at least I had an idea and one that I was happy with. Despite this overwhelming feeling, I decided that the best thing I could do is just jump in and see where this goes. If it goes wrong, I could always go back and fix things. Once I did this, I feel that everything flowed nicely. Since it is my first time animating anything, there were many mistakes made at the beginning and at one point I was getting frustrated, however, I pushed through and tried fixing as many things as I could. To be honest, at this point I knew it wouldn’t be the best animation so I tried to play in how bad it was. I think it made the process a lot more fun and I saw myself not feeling that anxiety anymore. When the day of the critique came, I appreciated the positive feedback because it reassured me that people saw I had fun with this project and tried my best. On the other hand, I also appreciated the constructive feedback because it let me know what I could work on. For example, although my walk cycle was smooth, it had a few glitches in it which I didn’t know how to fix at the time but I do now. Overall, I enjoyed this project even though it started out with some anxiety.
